Welcome to the week of August 5, 2024. This is a relatively quiet week with planetary interactions. However, what is happening is significant, with extremely beneficial connections. Let’s break it down and see what’s going on.

First of all, on August 4th, the new Moon in Leo is a great new start, with new beginnings options opportunities, and lots of possibilities, it’s just up to you to recognize them and also to work with the timing and not a race forward and push something if it’s not ready.  I mean, even business connections and the process of business goes through a courting phase, and right now with Mercury going retrograde on August fourth/fifth (depending on where you are located in the world) then we are right in that period of the Mercury transit that’s called the storm. This is when the planet is stationary and moving into its retrograde transit, so you don’t want to take anything or anyone for granted, and you don’t want to make any assumptions, don’t assume anything.

This Mercury retrograde will start in the sign of Virgo (Aug 4th/5th), and it’s quite comfortable in Virgo because it’s one of the signs it rules. So, in this sense, the Mercury planet is excelling here when it comes to creativity, organization, and learning. It gives you a chance to get down to business to start doing the back-office work, tidying things up, moving forward on projects, and getting everything ready to launch into action. Then from the 14th through to the 28th, Mercury will regress into the sign of Leo, so the more that you can get done and organized while Mercury is in Virgo from the 5th to the 14th, the better. Because, when Mercury moves into Leo it’s more about connecting and communicating with people, and also perhaps those you haven’t seen for a while.

Mercury governs communication education and creativity. These are the three main areas that Mercury covers. It does cover other areas as well as travel and siblings, but let’s work on these three areas, communication, education, and creativity, which are like the bases of the energy of Mercury. When you put that energy into Leo, which is more of a gregarious sign, and the energy that steps out into the limelight and makes things happen in the way of connecting and interacting with people. And let’s face it, that’s what you have to do, it’s part of the process. It’s part of the recipe for making a change in your life, so I like this Mercury retrograde. Of course, all the normal irritations come with it, you know, like for instance, locking yourself out. That’s why I always have a lockbox on my door as l am notorious for locking myself out. And travel, communication, and technology, all the normal things apply, and it is always wise to back up everything. Don’t make rash decisions. Think things through, get organized, and make sure everything looks right, and it feels right before you do anything.

This is a great time. If you can use this Mercury Retrograde time, especially when in Virgo, to get organized and clear the deck, clear your desk. And then you can make connections with people that can help you make things happen and start to get a plan in place of how you are going to put yourself out there. If you’re a small business, you are going to promote. If you work for a corporate company, are you going to connect with clients or connect with resources or people that, can you help you in some way? All great stuff, so I hope it is good for you and everyone.

Venus will make her move from Leo where she loves this place. It’s a great upbeat energy for the Venus vibration, and she’ll move into Virgo, so we’ve got the opposite going. Mercury is coming back to Leo, and Venus is moving into Virgo, which is caring and thoughtful energy. I mean, now let’s talk about the elephant in the room, like the Virgo energy being too text-book picky, but here’s the truth about Virgo that you don’t get from the textbook and that it is that Virgo will only be sort of picky or critical if they like you because if they don’t, they’re not even going to bother. So, keep that in mind. Virgo is a great place for Venus. Traditionally, longevity is Venus in Taurus, however, in Virgo, she looks for commitment, and certainly a long-term commitment, so that’s nice.

On the seventh, the Sun will sextile Jupiter. This is an amazing connection and an all-time best and strongest most beneficial planetary connection. Between the Sun being our greatest energy source and Jupiter the planet of abundance, expansion, and inspiration,  interacting as a sextile astral aspect, this opens up opportunities, options, and possibilities. Don’t forget that Mercury is two days into its retrograde so you can revisit people or situations from the past, and because this is a very positive interaction between these two amazing energies this is a good sign that something really great can take place.

Then on the eighth, Venus and Mercury connect before Mercury moves back into Leo. These two planetary energies together are not unusual as they both run very close to the Sun. Mercury is never more than 30° from the Sun Venus is never more than 60° from the Sun. So, it’s a common interaction, but it’s a beautiful placement. Venus is the planet of love and money, and Mercury, the planet of communication, creativity, and education. So, together, they fit well! For business, you can create something that is going to be very profitable, and on a personal side, you can expect to have pleasant interactions and communication with people.

So, even though there’s not a great deal happening this week as I said at the beginning, what is happening is significant, so I hope you all have a beautiful week.
