Welcome to August 19, 2024. Let’s see what the stars bring us this week okay? Let’s get started.
First of all, we are still in Mercury retrograde, and I did cover the retrograde in a previous week and highlighted it as potentially being a productive retrograde while in Virgo to get things organized and then in Leo to push forward. Well, I don’t know about you, and I’d love to hear how it’s going for you, but for me, it has seriously been messing with me. The normal things, lots of time-consuming tech issues, and also some banking fraud, which is all very annoying and tedious to deal with. I’d love to hear your stories, especially as Mercury reverted to Leo on the 14th.
This week starts with a full Moon in Aquarius, which means the Sun is in Leo and there is an opposite axis between the Sun and Moon. So this full moon is very much about balancing your introvert and extrovert personalities. These are contrasting personalities where Leo is the extrovert and although I wouldn’t call Aquarius a full introvert, the Aquarian energy does like to have reflection time and can have a tendency to block out the world around them. The Aquarius full moon does help us all go deeper into who we are and discover areas where we are more of an introvert and areas where we are more naturally and confident as an extrovert. The full Moon in Astrology, on the whole, does help us to get to know more about who we are and as we do that we come to an understanding of love and acceptance of the person we are, the good bad, and the ugly, it then allows us to have more understanding and acceptance of others.
At the same time early this week, we have several planetary interactions, including three challenging squares between the Sun and Uranus, Venus and Jupiter, and Jupiter and Saturn, plus a conjunction with the Sun and Mercury as well as an opposition with Venus and Saturn. Wow, what a lineup that is - let’s break it down.
The squares are traditionally challenging, depending on what planets are squaring. In this case, the Sun and Uranus square can set up a bit of a powerplay in the sense that the Sun has its own idea of what it wants to do, and Uranus can just come over the top and go, well this is what’s happening, like it or not, deal with it And as this square is in fixed signs, Leo and Taurus, there can be a resistance of allowing life to proceed organically. And with Uranus, it’s not always possible to push through, so there is a sense of wanting to stick to your own values and boundaries but a need to step back a little and let life move forward organically. You just never know what life has in store for you, and even if it doesn’t look great, to begin with, a situation can end up being just what you need.
The square interaction between Venus and Jupiter, on the other hand, is not so challenging between these two. However, it does highlight the need to see a situation or person for what it is and who they are and not fool yourself into thinking that someone is going to change. They might, but that’s entirely up to them, so if you’re trying to get someone to change then my advice would be just back off and let them show you what they are about and what they are prepared to do, in other words, how serious they are about what they say they are going to do.
The Jupiter square Saturn interaction can work, although, of course, the square is somewhat challenging, certainly a square with Saturn. However, Jupiter's energy does brighten and lighten the overall energy somewhat. In this case, Jupiter helps to lift the Saturnian energy, which can be heavy in a square, although Saturn does help to ground the Jupiter energy. So, when you put the two together in the square astral interaction, it can work well, however, it is up to you to recognize the benefit of the push-pull energy that is going on during this time.
On a brighter note, the Sun conjunct Mercury connection, which is not uncommon because Mercury never travels any further than 30° from the Sun, opens the door for communication to take place. The energy between Venus and Saturn, also not too bad, can help you gain clarity about what you want in your heart of hearts, and then make a plan of how to arrive at your desired destination.
Moving through the week, Venus and Mars also form a square later in the week on the 23rd, and this is in mutable signs, so it is good for relationship negotiation, or should I say, compromise. However, you need to be prepared to make a compromise and not be stubborn about your way being the right way.
The Sun will make its move toward the end of the week, on the 22nd, from fire sign Leo into earth sign Virgo, which will help us all get a sense of our value system to be able to incorporate more work-life balance. Over the weekend there is a sextile astral interaction, which represents opportunities, options, and possibilities, between communication planet Mercury and motivational Mars. This will allow you to get in touch with what you want to say and how you feel, and be able to voice that. However, keep in mind that we are still in Mercury Retrograde and now at the point of just transiting into the storm, a very disruptive part of the retrograde transit, as it will go direct on the 28th. Although, on the stationary direct end as it’s coming out of the retrograde it usually, is not as disruptive as when Mercury is stationary retrograde at the beginning of the retrograde, let’s hope so!
August is a very complex month with everything going on, and as such, it is a great time to reflect review, and reset.
Best wishes,
Jennifer
